Ammunition Shipping Restrictions by State
Can Ammo ship to me?
We do not ship to any jurisdictions where doing so is prohibited by local, state, or federal law. Before placing your order, please do whatever research is necessary to ensure that shipping your order does not violate any local, state, or federal laws.
We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts, California, New York City, or Chicago. If your shipping address is in Connecticut, Illinois, New York State, or New Jersey, we will require the documentation that these states require our office to collect. If you need to send us such documentation, please e-mail it to ffl@ajpro.org .
Can I pick up my order at your store?
Sorry, but our store is not set up to process walk-in orders or pickups.
What is the return policy?
THERE ARE NO RETURNS ON AMMUNITION
How can I pay for my order?
You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
Can you deliver to me?
Because of the ever-changing regulations and shipping restrictions surrounding the sale of ammunition, we are unable to ship to these locations:
Alaska
California
Canada
Chicago (we are able to ship to other areas of IL)
Hawaii
Massachusetts
New York City, Buffalo, and Rochester (we are able to ship to other areas in the state of NY)
Washington, DC
All international locations
Local laws and regulations are always changing. To be certain of your ability to legally receive ammunition purchases by mail, check your local legislation before ordering.
Do you ship to California?
We no longer ship to the state of California, not even through a licensed ammunition vendor. We had hoped to be able to serve our friends on the West Coast but the ammunition laws and other laws that California continued to pass added up to too much cost, paperwork, and difficulty for us to be able to serve the state (and still stay in business). If you ever move out of California, we look forward to serving you elsewhere.
Do you ship to Illinois?
We do ship everywhere in Illinois, except the City of Chicago. Two documents are needed in order to ship to Illinois (outside of Chicago):
Valid copy of your FOID card (Firearm Owner’s Identification Card)
Valid copy of your driver’s license OR IL state-issued ID
Your shipping address MUST match at least one of the addresses on these two documents. Once these documents are received and approved, your order will be shipped. And as long as your documents remain valid with a matching shipping address, all future orders will ship automatically.
Applicable IL Statute: b-5) Any resident may purchase ammunition from a person outside of Illinois. Any resident purchasing ammunition outside the State of Illinois must provide the seller with a copy of his or her valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card and either his or her Illinois driver's license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to the shipment of the ammunition. The ammunition may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.
Do you ship to the state of New York?
We do ship to the state of New York*, but there are restrictions. The in-person requirement of Section 50 of the New York SAFE Act states that all purchased ammo must be shipped to a valid FFL holder OR a registered seller of ammunition. While that means we cannot ship directly to your door, we can ship to an FFL holder. That chosen FFL then transfers the ammunition onto you after they meet the other requirements of the New York SAFE Act. This transfer may come with a fee, for which you are responsible. Once you choose an FFL they must send a copy of their FFL to ffl@ajpro.org , no other information is needed in order to ship your ammo purchase. We'll take care of the rest!
*Keep in mind that local regulations restrict us from shipping to addresses located in New York City.
Do you ship to New Jersey?
We do ship to New Jersey, but there are restrictions. The following calibers can be shipped without proof of a FOID card:
.223
5.56
.308
7.61x51
7.62x39
.270
.243
30-30
30-06
12 gauge
20 gauge
The lack of restrictions on these calibers is because they undoubtedly for use in rifles or shotguns – uses for which New Jersey provides an exception.
However, ONE OF THE FOLLOWING is required in order to ship all other calibers:
Valid copy of your firearms purchaser identification card
Valid copy of your permit to purchase a handgun
Valid copy of your permit to carry a handgun
Once these documents are received and approved, your order will be shipped.
According to New Jersey Statutes Annotated 2C:58-3.3., our office is required to obtain a copy of one of the following documents before your order can be shipped: a copy of your valid firearms purchaser identification card, a valid copy of a permit to purchase a handgun, or a valid permit to carry a handgun.
Do you ship to Connecticut?
We do ship to Connecticut, but we need two pieces of valid documentation in order to do so. These include a valid copy of your Connecticut driver's license or state-issued ID, as well as ONE OF THE FOLLOWING issued under Connecticut law:
Valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver
Valid permit to sell a pistol or revolver at retail
Valid eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver
Valid long gun eligibility certificate
Valid ammunition certificate
Do you ship to all other states?
If your state is not listed on this page, along with its corresponding restrictions, we are likely able to ship ammo directly to your door with no additional requirements needed.
Please keep in mind that laws and regulations regarding the sale and shipment of ammunition can change often and quickly. We do our best to stay informed about these legislation changes and keep our customers updated, but it's always a good idea to know your local laws and restrictions.
